INSTRUCTIONS
Submit your abstract
Step 1: submit your abstract (600 words maximum) in English
Step 2: wait for approval after the closing deadline
Step 3: the scientific committee will review the abstracts after the March 15th deadline
Step 4: you will be informed if your abstract is selected for an oral presentation or a poster presentation during the congress. You will then receive all needed instructions (format, schedule for presentation, etc.)
Submission requirements
Abstract should be submitted according to the following instructions:
Language
English
Words
Minimum number of words: 400 including titles, authors and affiliations
Maximum number of words: 600 including titles, authors and affiliations
Figures, tables and references are not accepted.
Title
Concise, with no abbreviations.
Authors
The affiliation needs to include the following (in this order, the street address is not required):
a. Unit or Section
b. Department
c. University and/or Hospital
d. Town
e. Country
2. In case of multiple affiliations, please superscribe the relevant numbers
3. Please put a comma and a space between the names of the authors
4. Please put a semicolon between the authors’ affiliations
Please put a space and line to separate the following:
· The title from the authors
· The authors from the affiliations
· The affiliation from the text
Abstracts
The abstract for original articles should be divided into the following sections:
a) AIM: description of the objective/aim of the research
b) METHODS: description of the methods used
c) RESULTS: results of the research
d) CONCLUSION: brief conclusion
The abstract for case reports should be divided into the following sections:
a) BACKGROUND: a brief introduction of the case reported
b) CASE REPORT: description of the case
Please typeset the subtitles in upright non-italicized uppercase text followed by a colon (BACKGROUND: ... METHODS: ... RESULTS: ... CONCLUSIONS: ... for original articles - BACKGROUND:.., CASE REPORT: … for case reports).
Abbreviations
Only the standard abbreviations used in medicine are accepted, whereas the other acronyms should be written in extenso the first time they appear in the abstract. After that, the acronym can be used. Eg: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
